This was a touchy subject for everyone. I know for me it was tough to watch. Jason Van Dyke could have been up for first degree murder but the jury decided this case was a second degree murder scenario. The jury decided that Van Dyke may have believed his life was in danger, but he had no reason to and the shooting and killing of Laquan was not justified.

WQAD News 8 reports The Chicago officer convicted of shooting and killing a teenager back in 2014 has been transferred to the Rock Island County Jail.

Jason Van Dyke, who was convicted of second-degree murder in the shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, was transferred from Cook County on Tuesday, October 9, according to Rock Island County Sheriff Gerry Bustos. That's where he will await his sentencing.
