Another type of golf will be going on in the Quad Cities this weekend aside from the John Deere Classic. A brand of golf that was invented right here in the QCA.

According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, disc golf got its start in Rock Island’s Lincoln Park in the mid to late 1980s, with the first major promoter being Dale Haake.

The Quad Cities will play host to the PDGA Amateur & Junior Disc Golf World Championships this weekend. While registration for the tourney is closed, you can still witness some of the best disc golfers in the world play at West Lake park in Davenport, and Camden Park in Milan this weekend.

Get out there and support the tournament’s return to the Quad Cities – the home of disc golf.
