One of the most respected players in the history of the Iowa football program has tragically passed away.

Tyler Sash was found unresponsive at 719 Fox Run Drive in Oskaloosa, IA today around 10 a.m. CST.  He was pronounced dead on scene.

Following a stellar career as a Safety with the Hawkeyes, including setting a school record with 392 interception return yards, Sash was a sixth round pick by the New York Giants in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Sash went on to spend two seasons with the Giants, including winning a Super Bowl in 2012, before being cut in August 2013.

The Osklaloosa Police Department doesn't suspect any foul play was involved.

Sash was 27 years old.
