It's been a roller coaster week for the girls of the Central Iowa Little League Softball team.

First, they win the Central Regional and advance to the Softball World Series in Portland, Oregon.  Next, they get eliminated in group play after an undefeated team from Washington was no-hit by a North Carolina team.

Feeling things were suspicious about Washington's loss, and how it conveniently eliminated them from the tournament, Central Iowa filed a protest with Little League International's governing body.

The committee ruled Washington "did not play with the effort and spirit appropriate for any little league game." and a tiebreaker game between Iowa and Washington was set for 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Central Iowa got the ultimate revenge, knocking out Washington 3-2.  However, the team fell in the semifinals Tuesday night to Rhode Island 5-4.

The team is scheduled to play in the tournament's third place game today at 3 p.m. CST.
