Red-Winged Blackbirds Are EVIL!

A little while back, Olivia informed me that there are these red-winged blackbirds in the Quad Cities that will attack you if you get too close to their territory.

I thought she was overreacting, there's no way a sweet innocent bird would attack little old me, right?

WRONG!

I just moved into a new place downtown Moline, so my morning's consist of a leisurely jog along the Riverfront.

I've noticed a few of the birds on my route, but I was never bothered, until...

Yesterday, I was in the zone, jammin' out to some 90's throwback (Matchbox Twenty specifically).  All of a sudden, I felt something on my head.

THE BIRD WAS ATTACKING ME!

It landed on my head viciously about seven or eight times, hissing the whole time, before I could finally escape.

Needless to say, I'm avoiding that area of the riverfront from now on.
