Will Ferrell hit the field Thursday (March 12) to play nine different baseball positions all in one day in the name of charity.

As we previously reported, the actor decided to play the different positions within the Cactus League (which includes the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants) to benefit cancer awareness.

FOX Sports reports that Will kicked off his day by arriving at the Oakland Athletics' field. As the team's Twitter hilariously documented, Ferrell was in "beast mode" and didn't speak to reporters. He clearly had his head in the game.

First up, he played shortstop for the A's. In the same game, he switched to playing second base for the Mariners. Next, he headed to the Cubs-Angels game, where he took over in center field. In an unexpected move, he was traded from the Angels to the Cubs — for a washing machine. (More on that over on the Angels' Twitter.) At that point, Will assumed the position of third base coach for Chicago.

At this point, the Diamondbacks acquired Ferrell for the fair price of a Churro Dog + a D-bat Dog. (You can check out the incredibly appetizing pics on Twitter.) The Diamondbacks put the actor in the left field until he was transferred to the Reds, then the White Sox, then the Giants. While playing for San Francisco, he stepped behind the plate as catcher.

Will's last stop was the Dodgers-Padres game, where he played pitcher and then right field. Phew!

According to FOX Sports, Will hoped to raise $1 million through the event, which was filmed by HBO. Additionally, memorabilia from the day will be sold on MLB.com with proceeds benefiting Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer.
