Another Quad Cities Hockey Team Still a Possibility

The loss of the Mallards last month may not mean the death of hockey permanently in the Quad Cities. According to a report in the Quad City Times, there could still be hockey as early as October at the TaxSlayer Center.

Executive Director Scott Mullen is hard at work with multiple potential ownership groups to bring a Southern Professional Hockey League team to Moline. The league has even extended a May 15th deadline to allow Mullen more time to find a partnership that will be a good, strong fit for the future of the game in the Quad Cities.

There has also been interest from groups in bringing a Tier 1 junior league USHL team to town.

Regardless of who owns a team, or where they play, here's hoping hockey is back on the ice in the Quad Cities soon.
