After a three-day break, the Quad-Cities River Bandits were back in action on Thursday.

Wisconsin defeated Q-C 2-0 with three Timber Rattlers pitchers holding the River Bandits to just one hit.

The one player who managed to get a hit for the Bandits was lead-off hitter Myles Straw with two outs in the sixth inning.

Quad-Cities also got three additional baserunners on walks.

The two Hernandez pitchers for Quad-Cities — Jose and Elieser — combined to allow five hits and neither run allowed was earned.

Elieser Hernandez allowed the two runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Jake Gatewood had a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning while Luis Aviles had an RBI single.

The River Bandits committed an error in each inning.

"As long as they're playing hard, I'm good with it," Bandits manager Omar Lopez said after Sunday's game. "That's what I expect from them. I think we're going to be fine."

Lopez said there are a lot of adjustments that need to be made if the Bandits want to join the Clinton LumberKings and Peoria Chiefs in the Midwest League playoffs.

"They have to believe in their strengths," Lopez said. "Work on their weaknesses to make it a strength. Sometimes they let their lack of confidence get to themselves."

Quad-Cities stands at 31-39 entering tonight's game, but their last winning streak was a brief two games this past weekend against Cedar Rapids.

The River Bandits are away this weekend at Wisconsin, but return back to Modern Woodmen Park on Monday to open a four-game homestand with Cedar Rapids.
