As if the world isn't a mess right now. Davenport Police are investigating a possible threat at Davenport North High School.

According to QCTimes, there's a message circulating around social media threatening violence at the Davenport school. The same threats were made at a Des Moines middle school. The threats were also sent to our Facebook Page by a listener giving us the heads up. The messages are being sent from outside the area.

Davenport Police are investigating this threat and monitoring. Classes at North have not been canceled.

Anyone with information should call Davenport Police at 563-326-6125.

According to KWQC, If you’re caught making online threats, you may very well be committing a federal offense leading to years of prison time. Depends on where you’re located and the location of the threat target. Even if the threat-maker’s individual offense does not fall under federal guidelines, it will at least fall under a charge of first-degree harassment which is punishable by two years in prison and up to $6,250 in fines.
