My first love in life was baseball, so I always love seeing these stories.

The Davenport School District has stepped up in a big way and built a baseball field for the West End Eagles, a little league team being helped out by the 180 Zone.

The 180 Zone is an organization that helps kids in need.

They heard from principals and parents that many kids wanted to participate in little league baseball but couldn't for various reasons like costs and transportation.

The 180 Zone created the West End Eagles in April, but the team didn't have a field to play on.

This is where the district came in, and the new field is being built next to Hayes Elementary School.

The field should be ready to play on in just a few weeks.
