Almost every car I have ever owned has ended up with a front license plate that looks mangled. I'm not sure how. I don't ever recall hitting anything. Is it the car wash?

Iowa is considering dumping the need for cars to have a front license plate.

The bill, now in a Senate sub-committee, would require only a back plate on all vehicles. Right now, only antique or vintage vehicles require a single tag.

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Association supports the change, while law enforcement does not. Police contend the single plate will make it harder to identify vehicles.

What do you think? Should Iowa go to a single plate for vehicles? Sound off in the comments below, or on our Facebook page.
