16-year old Noah Kelly, a Boy Scout with Troop 109 in Moline, is looking to take a forgotten field in Black Hawk State Park and bring back the history that sits underneath the tall grass.

It's called the Pioneer Cemetery and it's one of the oldest in the area, which is saying something since we have a ton of historical cemeteries in the QC.

The cemetery is the final resting place for the Vandruff family of Vandruff Island in Milan along with the man who killed Colonel Davenport, John Long.

Despite all of its historical value, the cemetery is in bad shape.

A lot of the tombstones are broken or missing, weeds are overgrown, and several trees are down.

Noah has decided to make it his Eagle Scout Service Project to revitalize the cemetery, and he's going to start this Saturday, July 11th from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Anybody is welcome to come volunteer and help out.

The Pioneer Cemetery is located in Black Hawk State Park just west of Singing Bird Lodge.
