“Hoops in the Heartland has found a home court in the Quad-Cities.’’ That's a quote attributed to Patty Viverito, Senior Associate Commissioner of the Missouri Valley Conference in the Quad City Times. She was talking about the success the MVC Women's Basketball Tournament has found at the TaxSlayer Center the past three years.

So what does the Missouri Valley Conference like about the Quad Cities? According to the Quad City Times, it's that the MVC feels welcome here. Local organizers work to make the tournament better each year. In addition, the community welcomes the teams and their fans. That's not always the case when a tournament sets up shop in a city.

Local business likes the partnership as well. According to WQAD hotels and restaurants get a bump in business during the tournament. Stony Creek Hotel was at full capacity and the Barrel House Restaurant expected twice as many people than they normally serve.
