The NBA Draft was held at the Barclays Center in New York, NY last night.  Although the first 3 picks were pretty much a lock, the draft was not at all boring.  It was one of our favorite drafts that we could remember.

Here are our TOP 5 THINGS WE LOVED ABOUT THE DRAFT:

Zion Williams shout out to his mom.  Now everyone is in love with this kid.  And they should be.

At the end of the interview, Williamson was asked if he had a message for New Orleans. And he did - a simple one at that.

“Let’s dance.”

Then everyone is going to turn on him after he leaves to play somewhere else the 2022-2023 season.  I can't wait for that.

LOVE.  LOVE. L-O-V-E. LOVE Coby White to the Bulls at #7. He is a fast paced player who will be a much needed PG for Chicago.  He is a floor leader and was considered the 5th best prospect in the draft.  Plus, we love the article he wrote in the Players Tribune.

PRE-DRAFT TRADES!!!! There wasn't any kicking tires, this was knocking down the doors and not taking "NO" for an answer is some cases.  Obviously, we already knew about the L.A. Lakers-New Orleans Pelicans Anthony Davis trade.  Same with the Mike Conley trade between the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Give me all the trades on draft day!

Speaking of trades.  We love the haul that the New Orleans got for Anthony Davis and how the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka screwed up the salary cap:

Maria Taylor was fantastic all night.  She put about 8 hours on those legs and even caught some shade for her shoes, too.  Maria tracked down each pick and got them to say something, not an easy job to do.

The NBA did another fantastic job on the draft.  What a great night and a great honor for these young men.
